Pinellas Sheriff's Deputy Fired After Excessive Use Of Force

A deputy from the Pinellas Sheriff's Office has been fired after Officials reviewed a dashcam video of his where he exhibited an excessive use of force towards a female driver, and also falsifying his Police report about that same incident.

The encounter started after the deputy ran the tags and on the vehicle and noticed that it's owner Gage Moore, had a suspended license, and was a habitual traffic offender. He also observed Gage Moore and passenger Paige Taylor swap seats. Upon noticing this, he confronted the two at the gas station and arrested Gage.

Paige Taylor who is now in the drivers seat is told that the vehicle has to be impounded. Frustrated with the Officer she gets out of the vehicle and takes her license back, which resulted in the confrontation.

The incident was reviewed by investigators of the Administrative Investigation Division. They deemed that deputy Wayne Wagner did infact conduct a lawful traffic stop, and the woman did aggressively snatch back her licence from the deputy, but his use of force was still unnecessary, and he falsified details inside an Offense Report to suggest that the woman had shoved him and resisted arrest so that it would support his claims that he had to use force on the woman.
