A shocking moment from the African savanna – a buffalo fought back and delivered a powerful kick to a lioness, saving itself in a split second, all caught on video.

On March 18, guide Jared Meyer was leading a tour through Botlierskop Private Game Reserve in South Africa when a dramatic encounter unfolded. A lioness leaped onto the buffalo's hindquarters, trying to latch on with her claws.

But the prey fought back. With a forceful kick straight to her chest, the buffalo knocked the predator away. The footage captures the raw reality of the wild – a hunt turning into a fight for survival.
