Hyena chases kudu into water in dramatic wildlife footage

A dramatic wildlife moment from South Africa shows a hyena chasing a kudu straight into a watering hole during a tense hunt. The remarkable footage captures the desperate escape attempt before a second hyena arrives to help finish the hunt.

The striking scene was filmed on March 6 at Jamala Madikwe in South Africa. The footage shows a kudu, a large antelope species, trying to escape from a predator by running into a watering hole.

However, the determined hyena followed the animal into the water and continued the chase. Moments later a second hyena arrived and helped bring the hunt to an end. After the chase, the predators dragged their prey back onto dry land where they began feeding.
