Jeanna Smith is a 67-year-old woman who has a very special pet. In 1962 she was given a turtle for her tenth birthday.
She has kept the pet up to the present, and now her turtle is already 56 years old.

Tortoises are reptile species of the family Testudinidae of the order Testudines. They are particularly distinguished from turtles by being land-dwelling, while many (though not all) turtle species are at least partly aquatic. However, like turtles, tortoises have a shell to protect from predation and other threats.
