California Community Buys Out Donuts So Shop Owner Can Spend Time With His Sick Wife

Seven days a week, John Chhan comes to work shortly after 4 a.m. to open his donut store there at Seal Beach, California.

His first customers arrive at 4:30 a.m., and the John now sells all the donuts before the dawn thanks to a special message, that went viral online.

Ever since 1990, John worked alongside his wife Stella, but now he is in the store without her. His wife is recovering from brain aneurysm, and the bad news also circled loyal customers.

They first started collecting money, but the Chhan family refused to accept it.

One of the customers then came up with another idea he published on the social network. He suggested that customers come to the store before dark and buy all donuts from John. This way, he could finish work early and spend the rest of his time with a wife who is recovering at home.

Thousands of users shared this idea online, and the idea was also supported by many of the residents of Seal Beach in California. Now Chhan sells all the donuts before dark, and spends the rest of his day with his wife.
