Circus Lions Spend Eight Years In Cages, Feel Grass For The First Time

The lioness Tanya and the lion Tarzan spent their whole lives in closed cages, and they did not know freedom.

Namely, they performed in a circus, where their owners neglected them, but fortunately for them, one shelter took appropriate action these days.

In the hands of circus owners, the animals experienced many abuses and were not properly cared. Despite everything, Tanya and Tarzan had each other, and a strong bond developed between them.

One day, a story about animal abuse in a circus came to the ears of members of the Animal Defenders International shelter, who took immediate action. They rescued Tanya and Tarzan from the circus, along with nine other tigers.

In the temporary shelter, the lions felt the grass under their feet for the first time, and there they had much more space than in the circus. Soon the lions were transported to a shelter in South Africa, where they still live happily in a large fenced and protected area.
