Giant Shark Encounter Right Off Shore
The web has once again circled a video from three years ago, when a group on a ship near the Cape Cod in the northeastern U.S. state of Massachusetts experienced a very special encounter.
Even though they were not far from the shore, a real giant white shark swam past.
The great white shark is an extremely large lamniform shark found in the coastal waters of all oceans. They measure about 6 meters (20 ft) in length and weigh more than 2,000 kilograms (4,409 lbs). They are known as the largest predatory fish in the world, making them at the top of the marine food chain - they are endangered only by humans and orcas.
The group filmed a white shark near Barnstable Harbor not far from the shore during the voyage, which took the breath away of many with its image. A real giant was swimming just below the boat, and the tourists managed to capture the whole scene on camera.
