Grand Bahama Residents Capture Shocking Devastation By Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian weakened to a third-degree hurricane yesterday, but is still devastating in the Bahamas. Authorities there have confirmed at least five casualties, and mass evacuations are underway on the southeast US coast.

Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said that the hurricane is a "historical tragedy".

In the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian has uncovered many roofs, knocked down trees and power lines, and due to heavy rainfall many places are under water. At least 13,000 homes have been destroyed and Hurricane Dorian has been showing its power over the Bahamas for two days as it moves very slowly.

The web was also surrounded by video footage of a resident of Grand Bahamas in which we can see the raw power of Hurricane Dorian:

Many fled to the rooftops in a panic to avoid rising floods, further exposing themselves to danger. Fortunately, Hurricane Dorian has weakened today into a category 3 hurricane with winds of up to 80 miles per hour (125 kph), but the situation is still very serious.

By Wednesday morning, it is expected that Dorian will approach the east coast of Florida, then move toward the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina. In these states, the authorities have ordered the evacuation of 100,000 inhabitants.
