Kevin from Home Alone Stars in New Christmas Ad — He's 45 Now

It has been 35 years since the legendary Home Alone movie, and this holiday season, 45-year-old Macaulay Culkin has once again transformed into the boy from the movie — an adult Kevin McCallister.

In a new Christmas advertisement created for the company Home Instead, Kevin is not defending the house from burglars, but making sure his mother stays safe and comfortable in her own home.

Home Instead is an international company specializing in in-home senior care — offering support, assistance, and personalized caregiving services. In the ad, Kevin wraps the entrance and garden in bubble wrap, installs safety mats, and prepares the home to minimize the risk of accidents.

Culkin is a 45-year-old man today

Macaulay Culkin became famous in 1990 at the age of 10, when he starred as Kevin in the Christmas comedy film series Home Alone. He appeared in the first two films, gaining worldwide fame and charming audiences across the globe. He is considered one of the most successful child actors of all time.

At just eighteen, he married American actress Rachel Miner, but their marriage lasted a little over two years. After the divorce, Culkin dated actress Mila Kunis starting in 2002, and four years later the couple was even planning a wedding. Today he is engaged to an American actress and singer Brenda Song.

In 2004 he was arrested for marijuana possession, spent some time in an Oklahoma jail, and was later released on bail. Macaulay Culkin lives in Los Angeles, though he still spends a great deal of time in New York.

Kevin from Home Alone stars in a Christmas commercial

In the Christmas commercial — inspired by the style of Home Alone — created by Home Instead, the now-45-year-old Kevin meets the granddaughter of old man Marley, the character known from the film as the elderly neighbor with a shovel. The granddaughter gently encourages him to start a conversation with his mother about getting help.

The video blends warmth, nostalgia, and reality — emphasizing that staying at home doesn't mean being alone if you have the support of loved ones. The ad aims to reduce the stigma around senior care and encourage families to openly discuss support for elderly relatives.

For many who associate Home Alone with childhood laughter and adventure, this holiday commercial delivers an emotional message: during the festive season, we should also care for our oldest loved ones.
