Man Jumps Into A Freezing River In Vermont To Rescue A Missing Dog

A video showing a selfless act of courage by a man risking his life to save a dog from an icy river is making waves online.

Chris MacRitchie jumped into freezing cold water to rescue a dog that had been missing for several days.

"This man will forever be my Hero! Never told a stranger I love him so many times before. To some this may just be a man rescuing a dog, but to me, it's a man rescuing an extension of my soul! The video of the incredible human who saved my girl," the dog's owner Morgan Carasoli wrote alongside the video.

The dog, named Arizona, had been missing for days, with no trace of her whereabouts. It was Chris MacRitchie who spotted her in the icy waters of the Winooski River. Without hesitation, he stepped into the water and saved her life with his brave actions.

The scene, recorded in the town of Berlin in the U.S. state of Vermont, was captured by MacRitchie's 15-year-old son. The heroic deed touched the hearts of many online. After the successful rescue, the dog's owner was contacted, and many social media users hailed the rescuer as a true hero.
