Manatees Cause Ripples When Man Throws Water In River

Maria McCormick shot this video of an unusual occurrence as her husband Scott was tossing water from their boat into the overflowing St. John's River in Volusia County, Florida. A massive storm just passed the night before, so every time the husband would throw the water out, the river would ripple furiously, as if some kind of mythical sea monster was living down there.

"My husband was bailing water out of our boat after a huge storm. Every time he threw the water we saw splashes in the water. I happened to be recording on one of the tosses and we saw huge splashes of water everywhere. We both looked at each other and said 'I will never swim in there again!'" Maria said about what they have witnessed.
