Massive Deep-Sea Shark Checking Out A Submarine, Crew Captures Scene On Camera

OceanX members have made a dive with a submarine these days to find a rare bluntnose sixgill shark in the sea.

This ancient species existed before the dinosaurs, and is a dominant predator of the deep sea ecosystem.

The crew was also joined by scientist Dr. Dean Grubbs, who tagged the giant animal with a tracking device. This is also the first time a shark has been tagged with the help of a submarine.

The bluntnose sixgill shark can grow up to a 8 meters (26 ft) in length and can be found mostly in the deep sea, 180 to 1,100 (590-3,610 ft) meters below sea level.

See what an extraordinary scene the crew of an OceanX submarine exploring marine life witnessed in these days.
