Moment 40-Metre Superyacht Sinks Off Italy Coast
A video clip from Italy has landed on the Internet, where we can watch the real drama at sea.
There, a 40-meter yacht sank near the port city of Crotone in the Italian region of Calabria, which got into trouble due to bad weather.
First, an Italian and a Romanian boat arrived at the scene of the incident, followed by a tug a few hours later, but it was too late to save the yacht. The weather worsened significantly, and the yacht was already partially submerged when the rescue team arrived. Not long after, it completely sank to the bottom of the sea.
The Italian Coast Guard had earlier rescued all nine people on board. The yacht was built in 2007 and at the time of the accident was sailing under the flag of the Cayman Islands from Gallipoli to Milazzo.
