Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas at night. It has previously transformed into a hurricane of the highest fifth degree, with winds reaching speeds of up to 200 miles per hour (335 kph).

This is the worst hurricane ever to hit the Bahamas!

"This is probably the saddest and worst day of my life. We are facing a hurricane we have never experienced before," Bahamian Prime Minister Huber Minnis said in a press release.

Yesterday, about 400,000 residents were directed by the authorities to take shelter and retreat to higher places. As the hurricane moves slowly, damage in the Bahamas has reached great proportions.

Hurricane Dorian has caused real devastation in the Bahamas - power outages, demolished houses, trees and extensive flooding have been reported from many islands.

An eight-year-old boy is expected to become the first hurricane victim in the country.

Authorities have opened 14 emergency shelters for many residents, including many churches, schools and other buildings. Many residents did not move despite numerous warnings.

Hurricane Dorian is now slowly moving west, approaching Florida on Tuesday night. In addition to Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia have declared a state of emergency. Many evacuations are taking place in several areas and 830,000 people will have to leave their homes in South Carolina alone.

Meteorologists are now having a hard time predicting the further course of the hurricane, leaving many residents of the US coast in awe. No one knows where the hurricane will hit.
