Shocking Tank Truck Accident On Highway In The Middle Of Montreal
A fully loaded diesel tank truck driving at around 45mph rear ended at full speed another truck stopped in traffic on Highway 40, Montreal. The accident happened right after a curb. The traffic was stopped ahead, the red truck possibly wasn't attentive; upon impact, he remained incarcerated inside the cabin. The driver from the front truck that was rear ended got out and tried to open the cabin doors of the tank truck with his ratcheting cargo bar so as to free the driver but both doors where damaged and wouldn't open. The fire started from the red truck side reservoirs which ruptured upon impact. The Montreal fire department took about 20 minutes to arrive and take position, by then the whole tank truck was engulfed in fire. Several fire trucks sprayed on the rise highway both with water and foam from the street level and took about 1h to put down the fire which destroyed entirely the trucks involved. The fire was contained on the rise highway, main road which crosses the city from east to west.
