This Is How Popping A Balloon In A Nuclear Power Plant Sounds Like

Have you ever wondered what the sound sounds like in the cooling tower of a nuclear power plant?

That's what Matt Ballos and Kevin Peterson of WSDG were interested in, so they went to Elma, Washington, in order to pop a balloon inside the cooling tower.

At Elma, they visited an abandoned nuclear power plant and then made a simple experiment inside the cooling tower. Matt took the balloon in his hand, while Kevin grabbed the camera to capture the sound, which was created in the interior of the cooling tower while popping the balloon.

Even if the tower has an opening at the top, due to the convex curve on the inner bottom, there is a remarkable acoustics, which can also be heard in the video.

The sound of the baloon popping is strongly reverberating in the silo, which makes it a special symphony in the video. Take a look at the video and listen to the sound of popping a balloon in the abandoned cooling tower of the nuclear power plant!
