VIDEO: Dashcam Video Captures Deadly Semi-Truck Crash On US-93
The Nevada Highway Patrol Wednesday released video of the crash that killed two men killed in a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 93 on the morning of July 18.
Christopher Markley, 34, and Robert Jay Barns, 50, both died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the coroner's office.
Nevada Highway Patrol said a semi-truck driver admitted to "drowsy driving" Wednesday morning when he struck multiple vehicles resulting in the death of Markley and Barns.
The crash was reported just after 6 a.m. on U.S. 93 and mile marker 63, near Interstate 15.
According to Trooper Jason Buratczuk, of Nevada Highway Patrol, motorists were stopped for a flagger in a construction zone when a semi-truck struck the vehicles.
The semi-truck hit the Toyota Corolla that Markley and Barns were traveling in, Buratczuk said. They were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The truck then hit a Nissan, another semi-truck and a Chevrolet Malibu.
