Video Of Arecibo Observatory Collapse Captured By Drone
The famous Arecibo space radio observatory collapsed in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, and the entire drama was also filmed by cameras.
The scene when part of the observatory collapsed was also filmed with the help of a drone, with which they tried to take a closer look at the broken structure.
Engineers have been warning of the danger for some time, and in November, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) already made the decision to demolish the famous observatory.
This year, two steel cables bursting, holding a huge antenna above the satellite dish. The Arecibo Observatory was one of the largest in the world, with the help of which many mysteries in astronomy were solved.
The radio telescope thus operated for 57 years, and came to an end in August this year, when the work at the observatory had to be abandoned due to its poor condition. Many scientists have been working to restore and reuse it, but the whole story ended these days when the large antenna collapsed.
