Woman Gets Spooked By Rare 'Demon Bird' With A Ghostly-Sounding Call

At the end of last year, a video landed online in which a woman filmed a very rare bird on a farm in Colombia.

At first she thought it was just part of a branch, but soon after, the bird opened its mouth, thereby honestly scaring the woman.

Potoo birds of the Nyctibiidae family live in Central and South America, in areas from Mexico to Argentina. Seven species of these birds are found in the genus Nyctibius. They are 21 to 58 cm (8 - 22 inches) in size, have long wings and a tail, a large head and a wide beak, and are characterized by large eyes. The legs are weak and serve only for a basic posture.

The mentioned species of bird was also recorded on a mobile phone a month ago by the author of the video, who comes from the town of Chibolo in the Magdalena region of Colombia.

Along with the video, the author also wrote that the locals had heard the bird several times, but had never seen it live. Watch a video from Colombia where they captured an unusual Potoo bird on camera.
