Rolex-wearing robot chases wild boars in Warsaw
Standing just 132 cm (4.3 ft) tall and weighing 35 kg (77 pounds), the humanoid robot Edward Warchocki became an overnight sensation in Warsaw this April after fearlessly chasing a sounder of wild boars. While this Polish innovation by MERA Robotics is built on the Chinese Unitree G1 platform, Edward proved that size is irrelevant when it comes to maintaining urban order.
The footage reveals the robot sprinting across a parking lot with a luxury Rolex watch strapped to its metallic wrist – a bizarre detail added by developers Radosław Grzelaczyk and Bartosz Idzik. As he runs, Edward authoritatively shouts "Idź stąd!" (Get out!) in Polish, utilizing advanced software that allowed him to successfully drive the confused animals back into the forest.
Edward's surreal mix of high-end luxury and grit marks a new era for AI-driven security. Are we truly ready for a future where our parks are guarded by machines with a better sense of style than most humans?
