Toronto transformed into a winter fortress after massive snowfall
Toronto turned into a frozen white maze almost overnight. Record snowfall, strong winds, and extreme cold transformed Canada's largest city, while dramatic videos from the streets quickly spread across social media.
On January 25, 2026, a powerful winter storm hit Toronto, producing historic snowfall across large parts of the city. Snow depth in downtown areas reached up to 60 centimeters (24 inches), while Toronto Pearson International Airport recorded 46 centimeters (18 inches) in a single day. The storm caused major transportation disruptions, hundreds of traffic collisions, and widespread delays to public transit.
Meteorologists are warning that temperatures in parts of the region could drop as low as -40 degrees Celsius (-40 °F), urging residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel as the extreme winter conditions continue.
