Total Solar Eclipse in Valencia, Spain
Valencia experienced a spectacular total solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, which occurred just before sunset. At around 8:32 p.m., the Moon completely covered the Sun, with totality lasting approximately 1 minute and 2 seconds.
The most remarkable feature of the event was the Sun's extremely low position in the sky. At the peak of the eclipse, it was only about four degrees above the western horizon. Valencia was briefly plunged into an unusual darkness before the Sun eventually set, meaning the final stages of the eclipse were no longer visible from the city.
