An early marriage organization was started immediately, with help from relatives and close friends. Navar's medical condition had worsened in recent days, but he was nevertheless determined to marry his soulmate Maia.

He was brought to a wedding in a wheelchair, and he himself was in very poor condition. Despite the aggressive progression of the tumor, he mustered enough power to pledge eternal loyalty to Maia, and many described the scenes as the saddest wedding.
