Singer Adopts Troubled Sister's Infant, Keels Over Sobbing When Judge Say This

Marcio Donaldson, 28, had a very difficult upbringing, music was always his lifeline. "Growing up in that neighborhood, it was a lot of shooting, a lot substance abuse, a lot of people who did not see the age of 13 years old," he said. "My mother tried her hardest but children services ended up placing me and my sister in the system so I found refuge in my music." 

But life changed in an instant when his sister got pregnant. While dealing with her drug addiction, Marcio's sister was deemed unable to care for her newborn son, Rashaad. Authorities presented Marcio with a life-changing decision: either take Rashaad into his own care, or let him enter the foster care system where he could potentially live a stressful and unbalanced life.

It was a no-brainer; Marcio became his own nephew's adopted father. He wasn't about to let Rashaad be shuffled from foster home to foster home like he was a child.
