Young Dancer Puts Everyone In Tears With Gripping Tribute To Adoptive Mom
Growing up in an adoptive family is something few people will ever understand. On one hand, you feel thankful for someone to open their home and heart to you. But on the other, you're upset at the circumstances that led to the situation.
For 18-year-old Jaxon Willard, that internal struggle was something he knew all too well. He was adopted into the most loving of families when he was a child, but never let go of the anger toward his mother for giving him up and the yearning to know more about her.
After years of grappling with that dilemma, Jaxon finally found a way to express his emotions: he would dance them out on the "World of Dance" reality competition show.
While Jaxon was afraid that being curious or showing any emotions at all about his birth mother would hurt his adoptive mom, he couldn't keep his feeling repressed any longer. The brave 18-year-old said, "throughout my journey and growing, I would just learn that I can't just be mad at my birth mom because I don't know the full story, and so I just have to be grateful that I have the family I have now, and I'm just so thankful for that."
With the audience and panel of judges sitting silently before him, Jaxon danced his heart out. He was able to express all of his emotions without having to open his mouth once. His adoptive mother watched with tears streaming down her face - her son was showing off his true self and it was beautiful.
