In the mid 14th century, a deadly bacterium revaged Europe. The Black Death, as it was called, claimed 200,000,000 lives. So-called pague doctors treated the infected. Even so, over 50% of the European population died. The plague doctors presence in a town or city meant one thing only - death was near!
