Max Verstappen's Father Flips Car: Violent Tree Impact in Belgium
Former Formula 1 driver and Max Verstappen's father Jos Verstappen narrowly escaped injury during a Belgian rally after slamming his car into a tree, leaving the vehicle resting on its roof. The 54-year-old veteran and reigning 2025 Belgian Rally Champion lost control in a high-speed corner where dust and loose gravel turned the road into an ice rink. The crash occurred when Verstappen's rear end stepped out on the debris-covered surface, sending him and co-driver Jasper Vermeulen sideways into a tree with immense force.
Despite the structural total loss of the rally car, the cockpit's roll cage integrity allowed both men to walk away without a single scratch. Even for a driver with a career spanning from 1994 to 2003 in F1, the raw unpredictability of rallying proves to be a different beast entirely.
