Spectacular Formula 1 Crash On Belgian GP, Driver Is Saved By A Halo

Last weekend a Formula 1 race took place at the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps, where there was no shortage of dramatic scenes immediately after the start.

In the first corner, Fernando Alonso and Nico Hülkenberg got into a crash, but the halo protection probably saved one of the driver's life.

Fernando Alonso flew to Charles Leclerc after the crash with Hülkenberg, and halo protection saved Leclerc from serious damage. We can only guess what the disaster would be like if halo would not be used as the F1 protection.

Recently, Formula 1 has been providing additional security for racers with the protection of the halo, which has made many controversies and criticisms among many fans of this sport. But this time, the advantage of this protection has paid off!

The total damage caused by the accident, according to the first calculations, amounts to more than 1.5 million euros.

It was the same racetrack in 1998, when immediately after the start, a severe accident occurred in which more than ten drivers crashed. Drama was not missing even during the race...

Look at what chaos and drama the spectators and racers witnessed exactly 20 years ago!
