Did You Know Some Fish Live In The Dry Dirt? This Is How Africans Catch Them!

In this video from Ghana in Africa we can see locals catching some fish under the dry dirt. West African lungfish can go for up to 3 1/2 years without any food intake whatsoever. During this time period it behaves much like an estivating fish in that it buries itself in the mud and does not move until more favorable conditions occur.

Locals smoke the fish and they place it in soups but even in the soup they still taste like mud.
