Cockatoos are birds of the family Cacatuidae, which comprises 21 species and together with the family Psittacidae make up the order Psittaciformes. They live on grassy landscapes, shrubs and forests by the water, grow up to 50 cm (1,64 ft) in height and weigh just under a kilogram (2,2 lbs).
Birds that are considered to be very smart can live up to 60 years of age or older, and are also known to imitate voices from the environment.
