The incident took place at Lake Waban in Wellesley, and fortunately, it ended happily for the dog and his owner.

Authorities were alerted via a call reporting that a man and his dog had fallen into the icy lake. The dog initially broke through the ice, and the man ended up trapped while trying to save his pet.
Firefighters crawled across the fragile ice to reach the pair, eventually hauling them to safety. Onshore, a medical team was waiting. The man was transported to the hospital, while the dog was taken to an animal clinic to be treated for hypothermia.
