Wild Rhino Walking In The City

Sauraha is a small town in the Ratnanagar Municipality of Bagmati Province in southern Nepal. In the past few days, a peaceful walk of a rhino was recorded there, which impressed the web with its image.

According to the story of a local, the aforementioned rhino was rescued by soldiers and kept as a pet in the military camp. The animal was rescued already as a puppy. Locals often spot a rhino near the settlement, but the animal never harms people or property.

Rhinoceros can be protective, but they are very rarely aggressive unless provoked. They prefer to walk slowly and undisturbed, and if they perceive a threat, they can defend themselves with a charge.

In Nepal, the Indian rhinoceros occurs mainly in plains and swamps in the southern part of the country, where it lives in groups or alone. It is the largest rhinoceros in the world, which can reach a weight of up to 2.2 tons and a shoulder height of up to 1.9 meters. Rhinos in Nepal are protected by law, as they are considered an endangered species.
