McCaughey Septuplets Today: How They Live 27 Years After Miraculous Birth

It's been 27 years since the first septuplets stepped into the world. At that time, doctors suggested to the mother Bobbi McCaughey that she should abort some of the children, but she refused.

In 1997, Bobbi from the city of Des Moines, USA, gave birth to all seven babies, and many described the birth as a miracle.

Bobbi and her husband Kennedy McCaughey were already parents to a two-year-old daughter, Mikayla, but they always wanted a bigger family. Unfortunately, their dreams were prevented by health problems, as Bobbi was diagnosed with a malfunctioning pituitary gland and hormonal disorders. After several years of trying, they finally managed to get pregnant - doctors then discovered that Bobbi was carrying as many as seven babies under her heart.

The doctors had the opinion that a multiple pregnancy was too dangerous for her life and the health of her children, which is why they advised her to abort some of the seven babies. Despite the warnings, Bobbi refused the doctors.

The septuplets were born nine weeks premature by caesarean section on November 19, 1997. As many as 40 specialists were present in the delivery room at the time, and the birth took place without major complications. At birth, the children weighed between 2 pounds and 3 pounds - after the birth they were under the constant supervision of the medical staff. They left the hospital in Iowa three months later, and taking care of so many children was a big challenge for the parents - they used more than 50 diapers and drank more than 40 bottles of milk every day.

The McCaugheys got through the childhood with the help of family and friends, and the children developed well, went to school and achieved good academic results. The mother could always count on the help of her children - they helped her in the kitchen and with various household chores, and they always had something to do. They had two ovens at home, two microwaves, two dishwashers, two washing machines and a garden where they grew their own vegetables and fruits.

Each of the septuplets started their own life path, and they describe each other as best friends. They share a wonderful relationship and have an inseparable bond. Kelsey, Natalie, Alexis, Nathan and Joel graduated from Hannibal-Lagrange University, while Kenny finished college. Brandon has chosen a military career, and like Natalie, he has already started a family of his own.

The seven siblings have already said many times in the past that they are extremely happy and grateful to their parents for allowing them to be born and live despite many complications and fears. They added that they can always rely on each other.
