Police Encounters Impaired Driver Asleep At The Wheel, Results Are A Little Funny
On Monday, February 15, 2016, York Regional Police received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen about a driver that was asleep at the wheel in the intersection of Spadina Road and Major Mackenzie Drive East in Richmond Hill.
An officer knocked on the window and attempted to wake up the sleeping man, who did awake and quickly drove away. As you can see in the video, the driver ends up narrowly missing a police cruiser and taking out a light pole.
The driver, a 30-year-old man from Toronto was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80, Flight From Police and Dangerous Operation.
This video once again illustrates the dangers of impaired driving. If you drink or do drugs, do not drive.
