Rare Fire Rainbow Captured Over Singapore

Surely we have all seen a rainbow in our lives, but only a few of us have heard of a phenomenon called a fire rainbow.

It is an optical illusion formed by flat ice crystals at high cloud levels.

Such a scene was witnessed three years ago in Singapore, when a rainbow shape was drawn high in the sky.

Such an optical illusion appears in the sky on a sunny day when cumulus clouds heat layers of moist air. When these clouds overlap very quickly, the water droplets become about the same size. By the rays of light, colors are drawn in the sky, and all together it looks like a fire rainbow.

Due to its location, the appearance of a fiery rainbow will rarely be experienced in Europe, but more often in the USA, for example. Take a look at the beautiful natural phenomenon that was filmed in Singapore three years ago!
