Ship Owners Charged After Giant Wake Sends Beach-Goers To Hospital
Yesterday, a strange scene was captured on the camera near the beach in the Netherlands - the ship sailed too fast near the coast, causing panic among many bathers.
Waves pulled at least seven people into the water and three people had to be transported to a hospital. Among the three injured are two children, aged three and five.
The scene was filmed on the beach in Flissingen by local Rien Schrier. When he saw the speed of the boat passing by the beach, he picked up his cellphone and recorded everything.
"That green ship was going so fast, you could tell from everything that it was going to go wrong. We didn't have enough time to warn the people on the beach. That's the thing. There's nothing more you can do at that moment," the video's author told the media.
They have now pressed charges against the captain of the ship, and he will have to defend his actions before a judge.
